Here at last.....
What a journey! Arrived in Bangkok early on a Wednesday morning after a relatively non eventful flight. In the cab on the way to the hotel I came to the realisation that most large major cities are very alike! The tollways, high rises and smog where not dissimilar to Sydney. The differences at street level however are more prominant, with carts of strange food (check the pics!!) and lots of stalls selling momentos and a lot of fake surf & golfing t-shirts. Anyway, theres isnt too much to say about Bangers, those of you who have visited the city will know that the major street trade is sex, therefore there are a lot of lonely foreign men with tiny little Thai girls hanging of their arms....pretty seedy. I did a tour with the poms on a boat through the city & saw some pretty dodgey river-side shacks & some temples & buddhas. Once you have seen one temple you have seen them all I reckon, so that was about it with the sightseeing!!
So after a few days in Bangers, I was at the airport waitiong for 6 hours for my midnight London flight. The boarding call finally came & off i went. The flight was pretty easy really, it didnt seem too long at all & with the help of some medication....I had a great sleep for about 8 hrs of it. landing at Heathrow was an experience, it ws minus 1 degree & getting my luggage from one terminal to the other took about 2 hrs! long walk through the winding maze that is Heathrow Airport. plus I was wearing thongs ( cos i was too hot on the plane on my uggies!) so i got some pretty weird looks...
But now im in Dublin! all good, my friend Cara picked me up from the airport & took me back to her swisho new apartment in a little seaside town called Greystones. Beautiful place, ireland (from what ive seen so far) very lush & green, and it has been clear & sunny since ive been here. (still zero degrees however). I have caught a cold already & am still a little jetlagged, but am coming out of that today and am even thinking about doing some exploring today as it has warmed up to about 5 degrees. yippee!! hehe. Going to meet the work crew tomorrow & buy a car in the next few days...fuel is mega expensive here, so my idea of buying a 4X4 so that I can do a bit of touring around the UK & Ireland on my time off may need a rethink..
Will post more news soon & upload some Ireland pics onto the website soon...Check out the Bangers pics!

Here we go!!
WHEW!!
All set now, after a few passport dramas (as expected) and a change of employer in Dublin.....im finally outta here! Flights booked for next Wednesday morning & will be landing in Dublin on Sunday 29th jan, after 4 days partying in Bangkok with the poms. getting very excited & a bit nervous, but am really looking forward to getting on that plane.
Perth has been great, even had a weeks drafting work with Dad, amazed that I can still do it after not using autocad for over two years!! it came back to me like riding a bike. Having loads of fun, catching up with old mates & revisiting the old haunts for a few 'middies' ( I still keep ordering schooners by mistake). Caught up with the Munro twins for Craigs going away party, he's off to Switzerland to catch up with his chicky....we all had a great night out at the Cott..check the photos on the website! Also went out on Damo's boat for a fish...all i caught was a dirty Rass. There has been some very strange weather patterns going on here in the West, there has hardly been a summer, so apparently (couldnt be our lack of fishing expertise or anything) there are no fish..maybe thats why the Great Whites are snacking on divers? We had a great cruise up the coast to the Alkimos wreck however & I fed all of the bait to a friendly dolphin.
Anyway, signing off for now, my updates should be more regular than this, been very busy getting sorted since the last post. Next post should be from sunny Ireland. Hope you are all livin' it up..mail me & let me know whats going on! xx Carls
